Mrs. Maggie Yong Hong Hernandez
Secondary Librarian

Mrs. Hernandez is a Chinese American.  She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in Mainland China in 1988 as a result of the ministry of the missionaries.  She is grateful for the blessings and hope she finds to be in tune with God.  Mrs. Hernandez holds Bachelor of Arts degree in English, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theology, and a Masters degree in Library and Information Science.  She is certified by ACSI and is a Microsoft Certified Application Specialist in both Office Word 2007 and PowerPoint 2007.

Working in a library has been her dream and passion ever since she was in second grade.  Mrs. Hernandez served as the library director and library science instructor at the International Bible College in San Antonio.  She was the collection development specialist and evening public access librarian in Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport.  She was the head librarian, secondary librarian, and curriculum coordinator as well as instructor of library science at Evangel Christian Academy in Shreveport.  She also served as the reference librarian at the downtown campus of the University of Texas in San Antonio.  Mrs. Hernandez was employed by CASA during its first year and then returned in 2009.
