Dr. Efrain Avila
Counselor

Dr. Avila has served as the counselor at CASA since 2010.  Prior to this time he served for eight years as a pastor in Illinois and spent the past two years serving our country as an Army Reserve Chaplain.  He was born and raised in Puerto Rico and attended both high school and college in Maryland.  He earned both a bachelors degree and masters degree from Frostburg State University.  He earned a second masters from Wheaton College and a doctorate in counseling from Northern Illinois University.  He is currently working on another degree from Liberty University.

Dr. Avila and his wife, Laura, have three amazing children.  His wife is a clinical psychologist, and they attend worship in New Braunfels.
