Chapels are an integral part of Christian Academy of San Antonio. This is a time when the students come together to worship and learn from the Bible. We have three different age appropriate chapels throughout the week. Elementary students in pre-kindergarten through 4th grade hold their chapel on Friday mornings. These are high energy chapels that truly express what it means to have “faith like a child”. Thursdays host our intermediate 5th and 6th grade chapels. These are unique chapels where our 5th and 6th graders learn how to transition into a more mature setting and talk about more mature topics. Every Wednesday is middle/high school chapel where a more serious approach to the Word and life application is presented to our students.
Mr. Funk, our campus pastor, prayerfully puts together relevant topic series that run throughout the school year. We also have certain spiritual emphasis weeks such as Commitment week, Persecuted Church week, and Purity week which are discussed not just in chapel but also in the Bible classes. These emphasis weeks are provided so that the students can engage in topics with more depth rather than just receiving a one-time teaching. Mr. Funk also has made, and is still making, connections with local pastors and youth pastors to come in lead our students in chapel. We have had great success and response from these pastors, and the students love to hear from and visit with them. Our hope is that through these chapels, our students will grow to love the Bible and everything that is contained within its pages, and will come to an even greater love for Jesus Christ.
