Guidance and Counseling Provided at CASA

The goal of guidance and counseling at our school is to provide each child with an understanding of himself/herself in relation to God and His Word by meeting the academic, spiritual, physical, and social needs of each student as he/she lives a life that will please and glorify God.  For that reason, our office responds to this need through the following program components:

  1. Guidance Curriculum – guided lessons to help students reach their full potential academically, spiritually, and socially

  2. Responsive Services – interventions for students at risk of not succeeding in education, career, personal, or social areas as a result of immediate concerns or problems

  3. Individual Planning – guiding individual students’ academic, career, and social goals and development

  4. System Support – supports the promotion of students’ academic, career, and social development on behalf of the system (teachers, staff, parents, and community)

Throughout the year, we develop skills in the following areas:

  • Setting goals

  • Planning and problem-solving

  • Overcoming test anxiety

  • Study habits

  • Essay writing

  • Leadership

  • Time management and organization

  • College and career exploration
