Historical Overview of the Christian Academy of San Antonio

The Christian Academy of San Antonio, better known as C.A.S.A., is situated on ten acres of land on the Westside of San Antonio.  The original building that now houses the elementary school was once a beautiful supermarket and mall that later was abandoned and neglected for twelve years.  God gave a loving Christian family His vision to purchase the graffiti-covered abandoned building to house a kingdom school in the Westside of San Antonio.  It was the family’s wishes that the school would be converted into the only state-of-the-art private Christian school in this low socio-economic area of San Antonio.  The Lord brought 180 students in pre-kindergarten through 6th grade to C.A.S.A. on opening day in August 2000.  In 2007, the Lord provided the resources to build a new building to house 7th through 12th.grades.  The dedicated godly staff that ministers at the Christian Academy of San Antonio has been providing students with a sound biblical education that allows them the privilege of learning about Jesus Christ and gives them an opportunity to accept Jesus as their personal Savior.

By the grace of God, the enrollment at the Christian Academy of San Antonio has grown over the years and is presently at 550 students.  The Christian Academy of San Antonio was founded as an evangelistic private Christian school for students that met federal guidelines for free and reduced lunch.  Subsequently, 80% of the student population comes from neighboring underachieving schools with tremendous educational deficits, lack of spiritual formation, and material needs that comprise poverty culture.  However, with high expectations and a strong college preparatory education, the C.A.S.A. graduates are equipped and excelling as Christian leaders in colleges and universities all over the United States.

The Christian Academy of San Antonio meets all the requirements of the Texas Education Agency for a private school and is accredited by both the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS-CASI).
However, most importantly it is our desire to honor God in all we do and say at the Christian Academy of San Antonio.
